Promotion: Real estate company Two Trees has focused on creative companies in New York‘s Dumbo neighbourhood as part of a new design cluster featuring studios and showrooms.
Located along the Brooklyn waterfront, Two Trees’ Dumbo project comprises a series of industrial-style office spaces where creative companies are offered “big city benefits with the intimacy of a small community”.

The Dumbo neighbourhood encompasses 1.2 million-square-feet of office space, with tenants ranging from several small studios to larger firms like Danish studio BIG.
This is comprised of commercial lofts revered for their oversized windows, as well as restaurants, residences, cultural spaces and recreation areas such as Brooklyn Bridge Park, which serves as the “centrepiece of the neighbourhood”.

Over 100 designers, architects, showrooms and studios have flocked to the area in recent years, ranging from globally-respected design firms to smaller fashion studios.
Current notable companies in the fields of architecture, design, retail and hospitality include Danish architecture studio Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), and retailers Etsy and West Elm.

Among the office spaces on offer are three landmarked loft buildings by Two Trees – 45 Main Street, 55 Washington Street and 20 Jay Street – that have been carefully renovated for their tenants.
Key features of these office buildings include large windows, high ceilings, polished concrete floors, conference rooms on every floor, and individually controlled HVAC systems.
Furthermore, as well as being accessible via public transport, these buildings also offer on-site parking garages, along with bike entrances and parking.

To enable flexibility, Two Trees works with companies to customise floor plans more suited to their needs, or alternatively offers pre-built options for ease. Two design companies, Henry Built and Space Theory, recently relocated from SoHo having been based in Manhattan for 20 years to Two Trees’ Dumbo space.
Another key feature of the Two Trees buildings are their signature roof gardens, which offer additional space for tenants backed by expansive views of the city.
Designed by landscape architects Field Operations, these spaces feature multiple seating areas wrapped by greenery and equipped with wifi, power outlets and more to double as an “outside office”.

Two Trees is also able to support businesses through the process of obtaining financial benefits and incentives available to companies with an office in Brooklyn.
Rooftop gardens double as outdoor workspaces
Examples of these benefits include the Relocation Employment Assistance Program (REAP), which benefits companies relocating to Brooklyn from Manhattan, or outside of New York.
