Dezeen Showroom: Danish brand Arturel blended the modern and the prehistoric in this rug, which is decorated with a pattern informed by Stonehenge.
Designed by Arturel co-founder and head of design Nital Patel, the Stone rug sports an abstract pattern of blocky white shapes, whose uneven edges and leaning combinations echo the famous English monument.
The shapes on the Stone rug are inspired by Stonehenge
The rug is handwoven from 100 per cent New Zealand wool, making it soft and durable, and its layered textures and three-dimensionality enhance its tactility.
In keeping with Arturel being an acoustic-focused brand, the Stone rug also has a sound-dampening aspect, as it helps to absorb sound and create a calmer auditory environment.
The rug has a 3D surface
“Carefully designed with exceptional attention to detail, our acoustic rugs embodies the grandeur and mystery of Stonehenge,” said Patel.
“The intricate silhouette mirrors the iconic stone formations, while high-quality materials guarantee both visual and acoustic brilliance.”
The Stone rug is available in four colour options, centring vivid primary hues as well as graphic black and white.
