wireless portable split keyboard ‘toucan’ comes with trackpad
The wireless portable split keyboard Toucan by Beekeeb comes with a flat circular trackpad so users don’t keep forgetting their mouse on trips again. Compact enough to fit the tray tables on airplanes and trains, the device also features a pixel display that shows information such as battery level, connection status, and layout mode.
For the 40mm trackpad made by Cirque, it is built into the wireless portable split keyboard, so there’s no need for a separate mouse, and it allows users to move the cursor, click, and scroll directly on the device’s surface. It also helps when traveling or working in tight spaces. The Toucan connects wirelessly using Bluetooth, allowing it to connect to computers, notebooks, tablets, and iPads. Users can also connect it using a dongle, such as the Prospector, for devices without built-in Bluetooth, removing the need for cables and making it easier to type anywhere.

Device with anodized aluminum top plate and 3D printed case
Beekeeb’s Toucan device supports switches, especially the v1 and v2 Kailh Choc. These switches are known for their low height and reliable mechanical design, and users can choose their own switch type and pair it with keycaps designed for the Choc spacing. The device keeps the same structure as the Piantor and Cantor keyboards, which have the similar split keyboard design, but with new features including being wireless, portable, and open to customization. There are two types offered, with one of them being a DIY kit.
In this case, users can buy the wireless portable split keyboard as a kit or as a pre-soldered and assembled unit. The former includes the printed circuit board and electronic components, pixel display, and the circular trackpad. For the outer case, it comes with an anodized aluminum top plate in silver, a 3D printed bottom case in black, and some acrylic protectors, screws, and rubber feet. If users choose the pre-soldered version, they will receive a ready-to-use keyboard without the need for soldering tools. If users also purchase key switches and keycaps, the assembly will be completed before shipping. At the moment, the wireless portable split keyboard ships in December 2025.
