SpaceCamper is no stranger to the van conversion industry: The German facility has been building Volkswagen camper vans for over two decades, turning existing vans into portable paradises. Taking a leap of faith to kick off 2025, the company has customized the Ford Tourneo into the Classic+ Ford with some nuances to fall for.
The SpaceCamper Classic+ Ford is pretty rustic on the inside, and since it can be availed in an off-road or a version without four-wheel drive (as a plug-in hybrid or all-electric) it can be converted for all types of adventures, within the city limits or on off-the-beaten trails.

So, rightly as it comes, the Classic+ has no limits. And with the inherent flexibility, there is no bound to what it can do as a camper for you. The camper van is equipped with a pop-up, soft top roof, and a customizable rear seat that transforms into a comfortable bed, but it’s the van’s swiveling and expanding kitchen and dinette, which actually makes it a winner in its own right.
The two sliding doors – one on either side – of the van lead you into the camper under the pop-up roof. Right at the door on the driver’s side is the kitchen comprising three burners. The kitchen can swivel in and out to provide the campers with the convenience of cooking indoors after dark or when it is cold, and outdoors when the conditions are congenial. In addition, the removable kitchen also has a large sink, spacious cupboard, and “free-floating and infinitely adjustable tables,” that can be used for preparation and dining.
Just behind, is where the wonder unfolds. It’s an extremely versatile rear seat that can accommodate three people and has two child seat holders. This section is conveniently customizable into a comfortable bed by the evening. Behind the rear seat (or bed) are storage boxes accessible from the hatch door. The seats can fold up to increase the boot space from 700 liters to 8,000 liters to carry your adventure gear and sporting equipment.
The rotating and height-adjustable front seats make the space in the cabin more flexible, while the pop-up roof with windows and adequate height ensures the camper has an additional sleeping space (in addition to the lower convertible bed). According to Ben Wawra, founder of SpaceCamper, the Classic+ is perfect for anyone wanting a versatile vehicle that functions as both a daily MPV and a cozy two-person camper, with the added benefit of accommodating extra travelers when needed.
The all-new Classic+ Ford made its debut at Düsseldorf’s 2024 Caravan Salon, followed by an appearance at CMT. The entry-level Titanium variant, powered by a 134-hp 2.0-liter engine, begins at €88,832 (roughly US$91,550), while the more robust 168-hp Active AWD configuration starts at €96,414 (US$99,350). Customers can enhance their vehicles with additional features such as premium wooden interior accents, upgraded lithium power systems, and solar panel installations.
