If it wasn’t tailored for sleeping, maybe I would give it a cursory look for its warmth and insulation, but that is an if! The ZZZN puffer jacket for sleep, is a modern ideation of a Yagi, traditional Japanese winter nightwear. It is essentially a sleepwear designed to let users nap anywhere and anytime.
Created in a light blue color – top to bottom (and it’s a pretty long, fluffy thing), the jacket is padded with photoelectric fiber. This makes it pretty lightweight for its volume, and usable for extended periods of time. The choice of fiber and inclusion of adjustable drawstrings on the sleeves and hem ensure the internal temperature can be maintained, especially when using it to sleep in colder weather conditions.
ZZZN puffer jacket for sleep comes paired with a biometric data monitor smart ring – SOXAI ring. This measures the sleeper’s body vitals including stress levels, heart rate, and sleep pattern, and relays the information onto an app. Through the app, a user can track and maintain their sleep and biometric records. Accompanying the ring is a pair of headphones built right into the jacket’s hood. The headphones can play calming music with sleep-inducing frequencies to help you fall asleep.
The wearable slumber jacket also plays soothing music when you wake up, so you get up smoothly and not in a jolt. On the forehead – over the hood – is a red light that sits there to help you fall asleep. The light transitions from red to blue to wake you up easily. The ZZZN puffer jacket for sleep, slated to make public debut during Expo 2025 Osaka between April 13, 2025 through October 13, 2025, is also provided with headgear that users wear like a helmet – under the hood – to stay warm while sleeping.
