Veronica Pantone at Fancy Food: “this is how we help companies develop and enhance their human capital”

We were visited by Veronica Pantone, CEO Flower&Klein, an executive recruiting firm, and with her we delved into one of the most important strategic areas here in the United States, that of human resource management.

How should companies and the agribusiness industry conform to U.S. trends with respect to human resource management?

Human capital is very important. We manage startups, small and medium-sized companies, and our role is to support them to enter the labor market in all their needs, in their recruiting activities and at the organizational level to structure departments and develop human capital in their companies. Doing a good initial setup is crucial, it is the most delicate phase, the foundation on which the whole structure will then stand.

How can food companies convey their values through their people, their resources?

Food brands are iconic, in the U.S. market, we help them create value and convey it through their managers, supporting them to bridge the cultural gap that is often a limitation.

What advice do you feel you can give to food companies on human resource management, what are the strategic activities to put in place?

It is critical to understand where you are, especially in the United States, and possibly get consultants to help you understand the market to make the initial hires on which so much of the company’s future then depends.

What is the biggest challenge that a brand faces when approaching you?

Whether Italian or European, in the U.S. market, it is strategic to understand where you are, adapt and bridge the cultural gap that inevitably arises. Even very strong brands, if they don’t understand how to fit in, not only with the product but also at the level of human capital and personnel, struggle to grow.

What plans do you have for the future?

We want to grow and expand our business to American companies, support them here on the ground.
