Amazing Photos of the 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale

Rally racing was revolutionized by the arrival of the Lancia Stratos, the first car designed specifically for rallying, breaking away from the era’s reliance on modified production vehicles.

Created in collaboration with Bertone and styled by Marcello Gandini, its compact, wedge-shaped fiberglass body and mid-mounted Ferrari Dino V6 engine delivered outstanding handling and performance. Dominating the World Rally Championship from 1974 to 1976, the Stratos remains a coveted icon, with only around 492 Stradale versions produced and many continuing to compete into the 1980s.
