Meetings can be chaotic experiences where ideas fly, people multitask, and key points often get lost in the shuffle. Taking notes helps, but it splits your attention between writing and actually participating in the discussion. Most meeting tools feel either too complicated or too intrusive, disrupting the flow rather than supporting it.
The CAST concept reimagines the meeting assistant as a friendly, clock-inspired companion that quietly listens, summarizes, and shares the essentials without demanding attention. Designed by Minseo Lee, this tabletop device blends classic design cues with smart AI features, letting everyone focus on the conversation while technology handles the tedious documentation work.

CAST’s calm arch silhouette and balanced proportions draw inspiration from the Braun BC22 clock, reinterpreting that design’s restraint and simplicity for modern workspace needs. The circular display, tactile buttons, and dotted graphic details create a product that feels both familiar and fresh, designed to blend into any environment without appearing overly technical or intimidating.
The form is built from circles of varying diameters, centered around the circular display and framed by microphones and buttons. This balanced arrangement creates a composed presence that resembles a small desk object, bringing order and rhythm to otherwise busy workspaces. The power toggle on the right side echoes the BC22’s iconic alarm switch, connecting enduring design language with contemporary functionality.
During meetings, CAST uses AI to automatically recognize speech and generate contextual summaries in real time. This approach frees participants from frantic note-taking, allowing everyone to stay fully engaged in the conversation and contribute more naturally. The AI captures key ideas and decisions without requiring participants to divide their attention between speaking and documenting.
When the discussion ends, a QR code appears on CAST’s circular display. Participants can scan this code to instantly access the meeting summary, making it effortless to review key points or share outcomes with team members who couldn’t attend. Previous summaries are stored and organized on the CAST platform for easy reference later.
CAST is compact and portable, with a neutral color palette shown in yellow, green, white, and grey throughout the concept images. When not in use for meetings, it transforms into a clean, legible desk clock with a simple button press, adding quiet utility to the workspace even outside of meetings.
The device’s approachable form and intuitive controls make it accessible for anyone, whether in a creative studio, home office, or corporate boardroom. The dual-purpose nature means CAST becomes a natural part of the everyday environment rather than a specialized tool that sits unused between meetings.
CAST is a thoughtful concept that imagines a future where technology quietly supports collaboration and focus without getting in the way. While still just a vision for now, it offers a glimpse of meetings that could be both more productive and more human, blending classic design restraint with the smart features modern work demands.
