Concept office mug with tealight candle by paradigm
Paradigm designs an aluminum office mug with a tealight candle holder under it to keep the workers’ drinks warm all day. A concept idea, the dish works as a drink warmer for office workers who want their coffee or tea to stay hot during work hours. It has three main parts: a base that holds a tea light candle, a platform that sits above the candle, and a handle that connects to the platform. The mug made of brushed steel fits and rests on the platform.
This circular base makes the cup stable so it doesn’t tip over on a desk surface and prevents it from splashing the hot drink all over the place. The office mug hovers above the tealight candle, and a vertical support connects the platform to the base. Under the mug there’s a circular inlet exactly where the flame hits, allowing the warmth to spread around the base easily and stop the drink from getting cooled. This distance between the office mug and burning tealight candle also allows heat from the light to warm the cup without direct flame contact.

Replaceable cup with other dishes such as bowls
The office mug with a tealight candle named Warmer has a U-shaped handle for easy gripping. The design studio Paradigm, which renders the concept idea for the virtual studio Render Weekly, shapes the entire ensemble using aluminum because it conducts heat faster and efficiently. Aluminum also weighs less than other metals, which makes the device easy to move around a desk. The tealight candle is the only source of heat for the office mug, which makes it manual instead of electric. Workers don’t need to plug it in but just fire up the candles to get going.
So far, Warmer is a concept idea, and the design studio even imagines the office mug being replaceable with containers other than cups but still under the tealight candle. In this case, workers can place small bowls on the platform, for example, to heat up their packed lunches instead of using the microwave. It will take some time, but if the users put it on the burning candle as soon as they get to the office, they might be able to enjoy their warm, hearty meals just in time for their lunch period.
