INSIDE RABH-TE-RAS RESIDENCE BY SIMRAN BOPARAI
Spanning over 2,300 square meters in Raipur, India, the Prabh-te-Ras residence by Simran Boparai follows a rigorous logic of scale and materiality. The architectural program is characterized by a high-contrast relationship between its exterior and interior identities. A geometric, modern facade composed of cantilevered stone-clad volumes gives way to an opulent internal environment defined by French neoclassical influences. Inside, the spatial sequence is organized around a double-height foyer and a central outdoor waterfall that acts as a primary cooling and atmospheric element. By utilizing these sky-high volumes and sculpted Greek pillars, Boparai establishes an expansive domestic landscape that balances communal social zones with culturally specific spaces.

MATERIAL COLLISION OF NEOCLASSICAL INFLUCENCE AND INDIAN HERITAGE
The interior of Prabh-te-Ras is defined by a rigorous application of French neoclassical elements, where sky-high volumes and sculpted pillars establish a sense of verticality. This structural grandeur is modulated by heritage-driven details like Bastar-crafted teak ceilings, which provide a tactile warmth and create contrast with the white-and-gold architectural moldings. Organized into distinct zones, the spatial program ranges from expansive communal areas with opulent chandeliers to private quarters featuring large-scale botanical murals, which serve as narrative-driven focal points, adding layers of depth and texture to the vertical planes.

Throughout the residence, the material palette prioritizes high-precision finishes and thoughtful materiality, emphasizing a royal identity. Book-matched marble flooring creates a symmetrical flow that complements the wainscoting on the walls while the monolithic black stone waterfall introduces white noise and a cooling element to the outdoor patio. Boparai’s sense of scale is masterfully balanced by moments of intimacy, notably in the sacred pooja room which grounds the home with cultural and spiritual depth. By layering Indian craftsmanship with maximalist accents and Art Deco flourishes, the home delivers a generational statement that is as architecturally disciplined as it is emotionally resonant.
