The Daily Heller: NUTS! I Missed the Peanuts Symphony

On March 27 the Seattle Symphony performed the worldwide premiere of a new Peanuts symphonic experience.

The Peanuts concert is a celebration of music by the legendary composer Vince Guaraldi that marks the 75th anniversary of his first professional recording session, and the 60th anniversary of the iconic “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” television special, featuring Guaraldi’s timeless score.

Peanuts soundtracks continue to dominate the charts. “A Charlie Brown Christmas Album” is widely considered the top holiday album of all time, which I vouch for since it plays in my house every Christmas. In 2022 the album charted at No. 2, and in 2025—60 years after its release—it returned to the top of the Traditional Jazz, Jazz, and Children’s Music charts, and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Guaraldi was also the No. 7 top artist for the first week of January. “Christmas Time is Here” reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The new symphonic concert is produced by Gershwin Entertainment Corp.

The production includes the original animated backdrops from fan-favorite Peanuts TV shows, including “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “You’re in Love Charlie Brown” and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.”
