SLALOM PRESENTS ‘SOFT CUBISM’ AT SALONE DEL MOBILE 2026
During Milan Design Week 2026, Slalom, the international leader in acoustic solutions, brings more colors to Salone del Mobile with ‘Soft Cubism,’ an installation designed by Swedish colorist Teklan. The showcase presents a refreshed color palette collection, aligned with Slalom’s manifesto ‘Acoustethics’ — a core philosophy that weaves together acoustics, ethics, and product aesthetics. Visitors are invited into a space where sound and sight are balanced to support human wellbeing, showing how nuanced, nature-inspired hues can mitigate the stress often triggered by modern, monochromatic interiors.

SYNERGY OF ACOUSTICS AND COLORS WITH TEKLAN X SLALOM
Whilst fostering sustainable acoustic solutions for the corporate and hospitality sectors, Slalom tapped Swedish designer and art director Teklan for refreshing the brand’s wide range of finishes and colors. The longtime collaborator, known for her architectural approach to color forecasting, frames color as a structural design tool, intending to create a palette that functions similarly to architectural wall paint. The resulting Teklan x Slalom collection features mineral, light, and subtle tones designed to interact with architecture and absorb light. These shades are engineered to be soft without being vague and present without being overwhelming, providing architects with a nuanced toolkit to shape the perception of a room from the earliest stages of a project.

COLOR AS A TOOL FOR SPACE PERCEPTION AND CHROMATIC WELLNESS
The color collection is presented at the ‘Soft Cubism’ installation, showcasing the impact of color on human well-being and neuro-responses within built environments. Grounded in the idea that humans function better in nature-inspired, pigmented environments rather than sterile white spaces, the collection presents color as a precise system for recalibrating how individuals move through and experience a room.
Through a series of chromatic experiences, the collaboration illustrates that while acoustics provide technical comfort, Teklan’s intuitive color system provides emotional rhythm. This cohesive intervention allows Slalom to offer a complete interior system where acoustic performance and unparalleled visual narrative work in tandem to improve daily life.
