A Hidden 4K Camera Inside This 10,00mAh Power Bank Turns It Into The Ultimate Spy Device

I might need to preface before even talking about this product that spying can be illegal depending on where you live (or where you’re placing the camera), but that being said, the Zygnatek Power Bank is a pretty great way to innocuously set up a surveillance camera within your home without making things too obvious. Want to keep tabs on your home without making it look like it’s been made theft-proof? Want to keep tabs on your infant child or your pet without drilling holes into your wall to set up a camera? Want to catch that coworker who steals your lunch, but the office policy on cameras is a little ‘too strict’? Well, that’s where this power bank comes in handy.

Most power banks are just massive battery packs with a chip that helps with power input and output. The Zygnatek Power Bank packs a little more. Aside from being a large battery pack, it also houses a tiny camera inside it, which draws power from the battery itself, giving you a wireless 4K camera that can be placed anywhere and oriented anywhere without being too obvious.

The Zygnatek comes with a 10,000mAh battery, which is pretty acceptable by power bank standards. For a traditional 10,000mAh bank, it’s on the larger side, but there’s a very obvious reason why the Zygnatek requires that extra real estate. Obvious to its owner, of course. Look carefully at the power bank’s base and you notice a small swatch with tinted plastic. Behind it sits a 4K camera and a motion sensor that triggers the camera’s recording function.

Place the power bank anywhere, and it instantly captures video the minute it records any movement. The camera is equipped with an IR sensor that lets it record at night too, and a gravity sensor that flips the video based on whether you keep the power bank right-side up or upside down. The one thing missing is a microphone, which means the Zygnatek doesn’t record audio, only video.

All the video gets stored to a 64GB SD card that comes with the power bank. A card slot right beside the camera can be accessed by lifting the plastic flap that keeps the slot hidden from keen-eyed people. Meanwhile, the power bank works as intended – with two USB-A ports, and a single USB-C, as well as a MicroUSB port for compliance with even older devices/cables/chargers.

All in all, the Zygnatek is a fairly clever spy device. It looks and performs like the power bank it parades as, complete with a display that also shows battery percentage, not just for power bank purposes but also to keep you informed of the camera’s own battery. There’s no WiFi, so you really won’t get smart notifications the way you will with a home cam, and the only way to view the footage taken on the power bank is to read the SD card within. Fairly rudimentary? Sure – but that’s the price you pay for a budget-friendly power bank that also doubles as a motion-sensing 4K security camera!
