ETHIMO MERGES NATURAL LANDSCAPE WITH CONTEMPORARY AESTHETIC
Set against the Mediterranean backdrop of Pantelleria, Ethimo’s 2026 catalogue presents a collection of outdoor furniture pieces, turning the relationship between design and environment into real conscious dialogue. Titled Architectural Nature, the concept provides a minded encounter between the island’s nature and ancestry with the contemporary aesthetic of the collection’s refined pieces. Located between Sicily and Tunisia, the Mediterranean island of volcanic landscapes and crystal-clear waters was transformed into a living stage for Ethimo’s designs to host a visual and sensory experience centered around the 2026 collections.

A DIMENSION OF CONSCIOUS DESIGN AND WELL-BEING
The 2026 catalogue marks a decisive progression of Ethimo’s creative journey, framing outdoor living as both a personal narrative and a cultural expression. Moving beyond the mere production of objects, the collection adopts an architectural sensitivity toward how human-made elements interact with the nuances of the natural landscape. Through a series of collaborations with Luca Nichetto, Marcello Ziliani, Christophe Pillet, Valerio Sommella, and Cristina Celestino, the brand strengthens its standing within the contemporary luxury scene, ensuring refined aesthetics are balanced with material-driven sustainability.

DESIGN AS A BALANCED INTEGRATION WITH THE ENVIRONMENT
The main concept of the Architectural Nature catalogue lies in its response to the unique architectural heritage of Pantelleria, specifically the dammusi. These traditional stone structures, forged by wind and time, provide a template for the simple yet harmonious shapes found in the furniture entries. Rooted in this landscape, the pieces engage with the island’s environment, translating textures and tones into a contemporary design language.
Transcending utilitarian functions, the collection prioritizes resilience to weather exposure through high-quality materials that create comfortable environments while maintaining a strong visual appeal. The Lodge lounge collection, designed by Christophe Pillet, serves as the primary example of this dialogue. Though simple in line and material, the pieces feature sophisticated manufacture and a balanced use of natural surfaces and resistant fabrics.

Following a similar design language, the Venexia club armchairs, designed by Luca Nichetto and produced with slender aluminum slats, reinforcing materiality and elevating the outdoor living experience. Cristina Celestino’s Seeds table and benches set, stands out for its slender, stalk-like legs that lightly support the various surfaces, creating a versatile setting for social gatherings under the Mediterranean light.
Meanwhile, the Patio series by studio Zanellato/Bortotto, offers solutions for both lounge and dining areas, featuring chairs and sofas, as well as tables and coffee tables, distinguished by meticulous handcrafted ropework. For more intimate atmospheres, Marcello Ziliani’s Kilt collection utilizes FSC-certified teak to bring a domesticated comfort to the open air, while Valerio Sommella’s Tama tables in enameled ceramic combines a pure simple design with a complex production process, serving as a perfect support for moments of total relaxation.

This ethos of tailored detailing is furthered by the Teodora armchair and by the new versions of Baia series, the Baia Natural and Baia Rope, envisioned by Christophe Pillet. While Baia Natural features fibre panels, evoking the natural texture of rattan, the Baia Rope introduces a mud-coloured aluminium frame accented by pickled teak inserts, delivering a contemporary aesthetic complemented by the Costeira collection, also designed by Christophe Pillet, that presents soft cushions on a base bordered by a system of fabric-upholstered panels.
All pieces aim to establish a sincere dialogue between contemporary design and the surrounding environment. The collections embrace space as a way of belonging to a lifestyle. In this manner, Ethimo writes a new chapter where each piece represents a contemporary and sustainable way of living outside, assuming a central role in the overall experience.
