flying flea revs open house rooftop with talks, workshops, and DJs at paris design week 2025

flying flea debuts at paris design week 2025

On September 5–7, 2025, Flying Flea, the electric motorcycle brand by Royal Enfield, is hosting a three-day Open House at École Duperré during Paris Design Week. The storied design school becomes a creative hub for art installations, masterclasses, live talks, and rooftop soirées, bringing together artists, students, designers, and Flying Flea leadership. At the heart of the courtyard, Mattia Biagi curates an immersive space featuring his Motototem art bike – a sculptural reinterpretation of the FF.C6 crafted from travertine, bronze, walnut, clay, and hand-blown glass. Moreover, furniture by Molo Design creates flexible environments for visitors to reflect, interact, and experience handcrafted single- and dual-seat FF.C6 motorcycles, styled, photographed, and modeled by students to express the authentic spirit of Parisian culture.

mobility takes over paris with Masterclasses and Rooftop Soirées

Flying Flea redefines City+ mobility, offering electric motorcycles that combine advanced technology, timeless aesthetics, and cultural storytelling. The brand draws inspiration from the original 1940s Royal Enfield Flying Flea, designed to be air-dropped by parachute during World War II – a symbol of lightness, agility, and freedom. Its public debut model, the FF.C6, first unveiled in Milan in 2024, merges precision-forged aluminum engineering, connected digital interfaces, and in-house battery innovations with classic design.

Paris Design Week provides the ideal platform for Flying Flea’s creative ambitions, inviting the public to experience art, design, and urban mobility in conversation. Here, the École Duperré, one of France’s leading design schools, becomes the hub for this exploration, with students, faculty, and international artists collaborating on installations and discussions. The Open House ties these worlds together, positioning Flying Flea as not just a vehicle manufacturer but a cultural platform for self-expression and innovation.

flying flea’s creativity across four floors

The central courtyard, curated by Mattia Biagi, showcases Motototem, a one-of-a-kind sculptural reinterpretation of the FF.C6. Using materials like travertine, bronze, clay, and hand-blown glass, Biagi transformed the motorcycle into a work of art symbolizing movement, resilience, and creativity. Surrounding the installation, furniture pieces by Molo Design created intimate spaces for visitors to reflect, interact, and engage with the exhibits.

Meanwhile, Duperré students Johan and Sara bring fresh perspectives: Johan through a live painting performance capturing Flying Flea’s spirit in real time, and Sara with a parachute installation enveloping a Flying Flea bike – an homage to its wartime origins. Each project highlights the brand’s ethos of lightness, creativity, and cultural connectivity, merging history with forward-thinking design.

Across the weekend, Laurianne Melierre hosts a series of live talks and panel discussions, bringing together voices from across the creative spectrum. While Mattia Biagi discusses his artistic vision for Motototem, Johan and Sara share the inspirations behind their installations. In addition, masterclasses with Flying Flea’s leadership offer insights into the brand’s design philosophy, engineering breakthroughs, and plans for future electric models. Also not to be missed is designboom’s presence, with a radio talk hosted by Editor-in-Chief Sofia Lekka Angelopoulou.

Up and above, the rooftop of École Duperré becomes the stage for evening panels and music sessions, creating a space for dialogue, celebration, and panoramic views of the Paris skyline – a fitting metaphor for Flying Flea’s ambition to look outward while staying rooted in authenticity.
