iris ceramica group merges pop energy and haute couture with ceramics

CERAMICS AND FASHION COLLIDE DURING MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2026

For Milan Design Week 2026, Iris Ceramica Group interprets the Fuorisalone theme ‘Be the Project’ through

a storytelling titled ‘The Humans Behind.’ Transforming its showroom at Via Santa Margherita 4 into a showcase where each ceramic material shows a personal narrative, the installation invites visitors to look through the tangible surfaces to recognize the traces of the creators, visions, and identities that brought them to life. In the main window, the ‘Reloaded’ a project by Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica provides the backdrop for a live podcast series with special guests from the worlds of fashion, design, and haute cuisine, exploring the human dimension of the creative process.

TEN YEARS OF DIESEL LIVING WITH IRIS CERAMICA

This edition marks the tenth anniversary of the partnership between Diesel Living and Iris Ceramica, a collaboration that blends disruptive fashion attitudes with advanced technical know-how. Under the creative direction of Glenn Martens, in collaboration with Controvento, the showcase celebrates craftsmanship and playful creativity infused with Diesel Living’s signature pop energy. Distressed Rug is inspired by antique carpets, reinterpreting classical decorative elements rooted in Persian tradition and Acid Majolica is inspired by traditional Portuguese majolica.

FROM DISRUPTIVE POP SURFACES TO HAUTE COUTURE MATERIALITY

Diesel’s disruptive attitude takes physical form through a palette of pop colors and textures, where ceramic surfaces become a medium to blend the worlds of design and fashion. By merging technical know-how with bold materials, the ‘Reloaded’ project creates two immersive, highly structured moodboards. This creative potential is further amplified by the innovative ‘Design Your Slabs’ technology by Iris Ceramica, which allows for total customization, ensuring every composition remains unique, personal, and expressive.

The dialogue between fashion and stone also extends to the Sapienstone haute couture surfaces showcased within the gallery. The latest large slabs — Travessa, Muschelkalk, and Breccia Rosa 4D — embody a refined, natural aesthetic that shapes the surrounding environment with the same precision as a tailored garment. Through this interplay of storytelling and material innovation, Iris Ceramica Group brings the ‘Be the Project’ theme to life, inviting visitors to express their own authenticity by treating ceramics as a form of expression.
