Most tweezers are made from two pieces of sheet metal welded together at the hinge-point. There’s really no better way to make tweezers. This technique keeps them light, flexible, and durable… and for the most part, your average pair of tweezers is either made from surgical-grade steel, or if you just buy it from Amazon or Temu – regular stainless steel. Titanium tweezers aren’t a very common sight (because they’re sort of overkill), but they do exist. However, this pair from ZexDailyEssentials absolutely blows my mind with how cleverly it’s designed.
Zex opts for a single-piece design, resorting to a very clever set of details to make the tweezers flexible and usable. The tweezers are made (like most titanium EDC) from solid titanium, machined down to a desired shape. Solid titanium doesn’t have the spring you’d get from sheet metal, which is why Zex employs a series of cleverly placed grooves that give the tweezers their spring. Serrated jaws and a really smart locking system make this set of tweezers vastly better than any other pair you’d find online. At $21, it’s definitely more expensive than the average pair of tweezers – but then again, you’re paying for design, engineering, and EDC that will literally last you a lifetime.

I’ll be honest – a stray eyebrow hair, or a grey beard hair can sometimes really ruin my mood when I’m trying to look half-decent while leaving the house. I do have a pair of tweezers, and they get the job done just fine. But a scooter gets most people to work just fine, why do we need Ducatis? The answer lies in design and desirability – something that Zex nails with their titanium tweezers. Made for grooming, cooking, tinkering, and anything else that would require a precision grip, these tweezers can take anything you throw at them.
The tweezers sit at 2.8 inches long, weighing a mere 0.28 ounces. They’re tiny, light, yet fairly robust. Alligator-style serrated jaws give you a rock-solid grip on anything, whether it’s a rogue beard hair or even bones from a fish you’re trying to filet. Jimping on either side ensures a perfect grip too, while that detail around the base gives the tweezers the perfect balance between flex as well as shape-memory so they return to their original position. That springiness is essentially what makes the tweezers so effective.
However, there’s yet another small detail that grabbed my eye. A tiny lock that holds the tweezers shut so that you don’t need to apply pressure to keep the jaws engaged. This small detail is quite literally everything. It’s clever, and can easily be disengaged too, simply by sliding your thumb into the negative space of the tweezer to force the jaws apart. The resulting experience is delightfully tactile, as the jaws click together and click apart.
For $21.51, you get tweezers that are reliable, durable, and non-corrosive. The high-grade titanium construction means they’ll literally last forever, which works because I hear your eyebrow hairs get even more unruly the more you age. Plus I swear I’ll lose my cool if I ever see a ear-hair moving forward – something I hear could be a thing in your 60s. Either way, this is the kind of EDC that’s made for keeps. Like your grandfather’s old-timey razor that you could probably still use today, these tweezers are trusty enough to get passed down to your children and even grandchildren as the gentlemanly EDC they’ll need as soon as they hit their twenties.
