For me, summer entertaining works best when it is SUPER relaxed, that’s why I am always drawn to long bench seats rather than individual chairs. I actually bought the Jati Barcelona Table and the matching bench setting last year, and it’s been perfect.

I am also really vibing Mediterranean-inspired table settings this year. My Christmas table will be styled with a mix of Italian-style share platters in hand-glazed colours.

No one does this better than Alex and Trahanas, and their Seaside Salad Bowl is my latest favourite. I love the ocean-inspired palette!

From left: Gilliflower Pottery Zig Zag Bowl from Toast, Square 004 Coaster from Apartment Three One Nine, Mezza Forma Jug from Studio Dukola, Barro Bowl in Natural from Hay, Telephone Wire Platter in Cream from Pan After, Pinto Placemat from Città, Stainless Steel French Press and Arlo 03 Cup in Stonewashed from Service Projects.

There’s nothing I love more on a Sunday morning than baking madeleines, brewing a pot of coffee and sitting out in the courtyard with my housemates to do the weekend quiz.

The Barro Bowl by HAY is my dream vessel for madeleines and I can’t go past an eye-catching stainless steel item at the moment, which makes the Stainless Steel French Press and Arlo 03 Cup in Stonewashed from Service Projects on top of my list — alongside Tait’s Swing Chair.

I’m also always attracted to soft colours and beautiful textures, so Citta’s Pinto Placemat in Haze/Orange Peel is another must-have for my perfect sunny Sunday morning set-up!

I’m a sucker for earthy tones when it comes to outdoor furniture and pieces that remind me of our beautiful Aussie landscape. That’s why I’ve gone with the B&B Italia Outdoor Tobi-Ishi Table from Space Furniture paired with the Sundial Patio Umbrella from Basil Bangs.

I absolutely LOVE hosting BBQs in summer, it’s the best way to get everyone together and is a guaranteed good time.

My dream BBQ setup features the Lily Pearmain Stripe Jug and Border Stripe Madur Grass Placemat from Toast, and dinner plates by Softedge Studios. The colour combo reminds me of the beach and outback all in one!

This season, I’m loving pieces that remind me of my recent Euro summer, starting with the classic Fermob Bistro Metal Chair by Trit House. The Resort Market Umbrella by Business & Pleasure Co. is another stunning addition to any outdoor area. I can see myself sipping on many a Campari spritz under it over the summer months.

Keeping on the theme, the Redduo “D” Jug in Butter from Pan After is on my mind, alongside the Olympia Stainless Steel Oval Service Tray from Nisbets. Kitchen supply stores are the best way to bring a bistro vibe on a budget!

The Euro Throw Pillow in Rivie Green from Business & Pleasure, Cloud Serving Basket in Ivory from Maison Balzac, Indian Steel Pitcher from Hay, Canteen Bodega Glass from Service Projects, Pin Drop Vessel from Leisa Wharington, Palmyra Stripe Napkin in Berry from Open Plan Studio, Petal Plate Medium Feast by House Editions from Cleo Collects, Bistrot Solid Cutlery Set in Ivory from Sabre Paris.

For my outdoor dining space, I’m coveting some fun statement pieces like the Palissade Cord Dining Armchair from Cult. It’s the new take on the iconic steel version, this time with a slightly softer, woven silhouette.

I’ve also got the Caret MF1 Portable Table Lamp on my wishlist — it will come in handy for hosting even after the sun goes down.

Summer is the perfect time to have fun with colour and quirky silhouettes, which is why the playful Pin Drop Vessel by glass artist Leisa Wharington and these delicate petal-shaped plates by House Editions are my must-haves for adding some flair to the table. They both feel festive, yet elevated!

Lisa Nelson, Designer

I’ve got my eye on the Stella Teak Stacking Armchair from Jati. I feel like it’s a staple outdoor piece that perfectly balances practicality and style. And I’m obsessed with the Twill Pedestal Table by Design By Them. Metal, steel, and aluminium are everywhere right now, and this piece perfectly captures that trend.

The Autumn Sonata Gray & Beige Eva Tablecloth and Poterie Barbotine Twisted Handled Pitcher are also on top of my wishlist at the moment. The deep bottle-green hue and sculptural handle detail would pair perfectly with the tablecloth.
