I cannot think of a more respectful pastime than making rubbings (or frottages) of the engraved letters on the faces of cemetery headstones, as they are rocks of sages. The notion that a typeface marks the final resting place of a human being for eternity gives truth to a speculation that said typeface will embody the spirit of the deceased. So what would a type designer choose?
