Taegan Treichel is a Danish visual artist and storyteller whose enchanting paintings merge myth, memory, and humor. He began painting at 22, soon earning commissions and becoming an in-house artist at the Imagineimagine Foundation in Holland in 2017.
His creative journey spans multiple countries—China, France, and the Netherlands—each leaving a cultural imprint on his artistic language. After a solo exhibition at The Bookworm in Beijing (2019) and formal training at the LISAA Animation School in Paris, Treichel expanded his practice to include both traditional and digital approaches, drawing from his experience in gaming and film.
Treichel’s work inhabits a dreamlike space between mythology and memory—a world in which myths lose their seriousness and become whimsical reflections of time itself. He often juxtaposes symbols of ritual with elements of celebration—candies, balloons, and party hats—creating visual conversations between the sacred and the playful. His paintings have been exhibited internationally, including in Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Washington, Singapore, and California. Through vivid color, narrative humor, and surreal composition, Taegan Treichel reconstructs fragments of recollection into mythic, enchanting worlds where reality is merely the first layer of the story.
