We Got A Miami Vice City LEGO Hotel Build Before We Got GTA 6

I haven’t been to Miami, but I’ve played enough GTA: Vice City to instantly feel familiar around this building. Styled in the Art Deco design movement, the LEGO Ideas Miami Hotel represents the uniquely rich architectural heritage of buildings in Miami’s Art Deco district. With its gorgeous facade, muted yet lively colors, and those palm trees on the front, this LEGO build makes you just want to have a pina colada in your hand while you’re dressed in loose clothes and some espadrilles.

Designed by LEGO builder x_Nath_x this building might be entirely fictional, but it’s filled with immense amounts of detail, not just on the exteriors but every level of the interiors too, down from the lobby on the ground floor, to each hotel level, finally culminating in the terrace with its rooftop pool. “I believe this set will be unique addition to the modular building range as it’s a unique concept compared to previous sets released,” x_Nath_x says.

Looking at this build quite literally gave me the Mandela effect. For those who don’t know, the Mandela effect is a phenomenon where your brain is convinced of an entirely false memory, like everyone believing Darth Vader saying “Luke, I’m your father”, when the actual line is “No, I am your father”. Similarly, this hotel had me absolutely convinced I’d seen this exact building in Vice City or some episode of Miami Vice, but here’s what’s so brilliant about it. It feels iconic, although it’s an entirely new creation.

The LEGO build (although it doesn’t specify how many parts it requires) meticulously details every single floor, from the concierge to each hotel room on the first and second levels, complete with a staircase to connect the floors. Get to the top, and you’ve got yourself a shaded lounging area along with a nice pool – perfect for Miami’s sultry weather.

The LEGO build is also accompanied by minifigures, featuring patrons in beachwear, as well as hotel staff, including a bellhop and his trolley. Now all you need is some loose suits, slick-back hair, a couple of box-shaped cars or maybe a Ferrari, and a slow yet punchy theme tune with a memorable bassline!

The LEGO Ideas Miami Hotel is currently a fan-made creation on the LEGO Ideas forum. If you want to see it become a reality, vote for it here.
